The Architect’s Eye,2012 by Sergei Tschoban and Sergey Kuznetsov. A stainless steel sphere, completely smooth and reflecting, features an LED system to create the image of a huge human eyeball that rotates to look to the sky as well as at visitors and the ground. The iris changes color and the pupil increases and decreases in size.

Thomas Hillier: The Emperor’s Castle, Chapter 3

outstandingly beautiful and creative. HIllier will remain one of my favourite artists/ architects. i think it’s the ideas behind all the pieces. you don’t have to be technical all the time. architecture is just like art. sometimes we make art that we use. live in and flourish in. sometimes. we just make art. :)

The site will look like a ‘mini Venice’, as it will be surrounded by two waterways. Residents will have moorings, water-taxi services and a floating cocktail bar at their disposal.

Can’t really believe that this is going to be built in my birth city. St Petersburg has alway been the archetype of Baroque/Stalinist architecture. Looking forward to seeing this built though.
